lyrics

All I wanted to
was play with sticky wet mud
make mudcakes and feed them to my brother
I built sandcastles and climbed the treetops
had quite a few friends and I did gymnastics
My friends were the spiders
the snakes and the lizards
I could sit and just stare them in the eyes until sundown
Nowadays I don't really do these things
Am I still the same kid
that had a worm farm in the backyard
This might be a bit philosophical,
are we metamorphs
or do we go through lives as the same being
after life
do we reincarnate
is there anything beyond
our mundane human existence

Revolving like the moon
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Regenerating cells
Where do we start, where do we end?
Or do we even start and end at all?
Are we like a snake eating its own tail?

A circle has no end
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Replenishing ourselves
Since life's a circle will I be reborn as a snake?
Or will I transcend,
and be a blue butterfly?

Nowadays I can't drink my tea without thinking about
when I dived head first into the stage floor
can't build sandcastles or even climb the treetops
yet my boss needs me back already working full time
The question is, am I the same?
I feel like I have changed
since I had that near death experience
Drawn away, I was flown to the light
Dazzled by the love that was everywhere around me
When I came around from my NDE
Eventually came a new direction in my life
Even though my body still hurts sometimes
I can still play with my crystals and taxidermy ...

Revolving like the moon
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Regenerating cells
Where do we start, where do we end?
Or do we even start and end at all?
Are we like a snake eating its own tail?

A circle has no end
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Replenishing ourselves
Since life's a circle will I be reborn as a snake?
Or will I transcend,
and be a blue butterfly?

From birth through death we grow
From brain to brain we advance
From stress and stroke we turn to dust
And twist into the air

Then I begin again, like an Ouroboros again
I am in the chrysalis again
I end again
I begin again
I am dead again
Ouroboros

I am
I am
I am
Revolving like the moon
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Regenerating cells
Where do we start, where do we end?
Or do we even start and end at all?
Are we like a snake eating its own tail?

A circle has no end
We live in circles
Circling the sun
Circulating blood
Replenishing ourselves
Since life's a circle will I be reborn as a snake?
Or will I transcend,
and be a blue butterfly?

From birth through death we grow
From brain to brain we advance
From stress and stroke we turn to dust
And twist into the air

Then I begin again, like an Ouroboros again
I am in the chrysalis again
I end again
I begin again
I am dead again

Peri Winkle Oslo, Norway

Peri Winkle's single draws heavily from her close encounter with death and the psychological implications of standing face to face with oblivion. Collaborating with Peder Kolsung on production (Amalie Holt Kleive, Sigrid) they have created a genre bending sound world with tastes of glitchcore, satanic electroglitch pop, hyperpop, dark synthpop, and experimental near death glitchcore pop. ... more
